Carriageman Viggo Studsgaard started in 1946 as a self-employed person with a few trucks. It was the beginning of the large nationally known transport company, which today has more than 70 motor units and more than 300 trailers of all types

The start of the company
Viggo Studsgaard buys his first two trucks.
1949
New office
The trucking company moves to Nørregade 40 in Rønne.
1963
New collaboration
Viggo Studsgaard and Erik Bech-Hansen join forces and form the company Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard. Elon Studsgaard joins the company.
1967
The trip goes to Zealand
The company joins Copenhagen’s Fragtmandshal.
1973
Good day to Vesthavnsvej
Relocation to Vesthavnen in Rønne, where the BHS Service Center will be established at the same time.
1976
First office in Zealand
An office is opened at Fragtmandshallen in Copenhagen.
1977
New freight terminal
A terminal is being built in Rønne. The wagons used to run to the current staging area for the Rønne-Ystad ferry. Now they get their own terminal.
1985
Elon Studsgaard becomes sole owner
Viggo Studsgaard hands over his shares to the company, of which Elon Studsgaard thus becomes sole owner.
1986
Expansion and Price
Takeover of Poul Hansen Transport, Kims Transport and Poul Hansen Automobiles, all in Albertslund. Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard receives the Business Award of the Year from the Cooperative Bank on Bornholm.
1992
Extends over the Storebelt
A forwarding office is opened in Odense, and we are now physically represented in addition to Zealand and Bornholm.

50 year anniversary
Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard A/S is celebrating its 50th industry anniversary.
1998
New location on Sjælland
Moving the transport department from Albertslund and Glostrup to Hvidovre due to lack of space.
2000
New branch in Jutland
A new department is set up in Aarhus. An office is opened for both terminal and international freight forwarding.
2002
Third generation Studsgaard
A new department is set up in Tåstrup. The transport company Paul Larsen A/S is taken over. Morten Studsgaard joins the company.
2004
Expansion
The head office in Rønne is being significantly expanded with a new large extension. The department in Aarhus is moving to new and larger premises in Hasselager outside Aarhus.
2006
Nordic cooperation
Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard joins Nordic Chain.
2008
New director
Morten Studsgaard becomes managing director of Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard.
2011
Danish Shippers
Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard sells its freight route between Funen and Zealand to the newly formed Danske Fragtmænd Transport A/S, a company Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard itself co-owns. Under this, Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard’s Odense and Tåstrup offices are transferred to Danske Fragtmænd Transport A/S.
Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard takes over the commercial stevedoring work in Bornholm’s Harbor and Merchants Association.
Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard is awarded by Bureau Veritas ISO 9001 certification for the forwarding activities in the branches in Hvidovre and Hasselager.
Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard joins System Alliance Europe.

Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard is awarded ISO 14001 environmental certification by Bureau Veritas.

Morten Studsgaard becomes sole owner and Vips is taken over
Elon Studsgaard hands over his shares to Morten Studsgaard, who thereby becomes the sole owner.
Vips Transport Aps is subsequently taken over and merged.
Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard is a co-founder of PLAN Europe (Pharma Logistics Alliance Network). PLAN is a collaboration between privately owned transport companies that specialize in the transport of Pharma. PLAN stems from the market’s need for an asset-based, pan-European pharma transport network that sets new standards in quality.

Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard A/S changes name to BHS Logistics. Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard Service Center A/S changes its name to BHS Service Center A/S.

We are celebrating our 75th anniversary.

New office in Køge
Our Hvidovre department is moving to brand new office premises in Køge, where we will both have state-of-the-art facilities, but also have the opportunity to grow enormously in terms of volume of goods and number of employees.
